All are welcome here. W.E.B. is for everyone — regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, age, or ability. Treat your opponents the way you'd want to be treated.
Rivalries, threats of conquest, bluffs, backstabs, and heated negotiations are the whole point of this game. Criticizing a play, an empire, or an alliance is fine. Attacking another player personally — their intelligence, appearance, identity, or real life — is not. Language crosses the line when it gets personal, abusive, or doesn't stop after the other player has asked you to.
Zero tolerance. This includes language targeting someone based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, age, or ability — or any dehumanizing language of any kind. No "jokes," no "just kidding," no context exceptions.
Do not wish harm on anyone. Do not repeatedly target a single player. Do not make threats of real-world violence, in or out of the game. Do not encourage self-harm or suicide.
Keep messages safe for a diverse adult audience. No sexual propositions, no graphic descriptions of violence, no shock content.
Do not flood another player's inbox. Do not copy-paste the same message across many recipients. Do not abuse messaging to derail a game.
Do not share real-world information about other players (real names, addresses, workplaces, photos, social media) without their consent. Do not pretend to be another player, a W.E.B. staff member, or any real person.
Alliances and diplomacy are part of the game. Using alt accounts, coordinated voting against a single player, or external tools to gain an unfair advantage is not. If you're unsure whether something counts, ask an admin.
Interact with the game only through the official web UI in a normal browser. Do not run scripts, bots, scrapers, headless browsers, or third-party clients against the game's API — including for "harmless" purposes like archiving your own games or pulling data faster than the UI does. Violations may result in account bans and IP blocks. If you have a legitimate research or tooling need, reach out to an admin first.
Nothing illegal under U.S. law — including but not limited to content involving minors, terrorism, or credible threats of real-world violence. Illegal content is reported to authorities where appropriate.
The W.E.B. Discord server is an official extension of the game. The same Community Rules apply there. Breaking the rules on Discord can result in the same penalties as breaking them in-game — including a permanent in-game ban, not just a Discord kick.
Discord also has its own Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, which apply on top of ours. Serious violations may be reported to Discord Trust & Safety.
Violations lead to warnings, chat mutes, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans — depending on severity and history. Serious violations (slurs, threats, doxxing, illegal content) are instant permanent bans. Admin decisions are final, but you may reply to any ban notice within 7 days to appeal.
When your account is penalized, the notice will cite the specific rule number violated (for example, "Rule #2 — slurs") so you know exactly what happened.
We encourage our players to cooperate and compete in our game, but crossing the line into abuse is never acceptable. If you come across a player violating the policies above, you should report them.
Use the Report button on any message in-game, or contact an admin on Discord. Reports are reviewed by the W.E.B. team. Knowingly false reports may themselves be penalized.
We may update these rules as the community grows. Continued use of W.E.B. after changes means you accept the updated rules. Major changes will be announced on the portal and in Discord.
